How would you explain it?

Image
Last weekend, my parents and I were trying to explain the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Paige. Not being a fan of them myself, there was some difficulty in explaining to Paige about turtles who were teenagers, mutants, and ninjas named after some of the most famous artists in history lived in a sewer and were super heroes. At least that explanation may have made a little sense when Selena Gomez asked Kermit the Frog if he was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in The Muppets when we went to the movies today. Of course, I kind of had to explain the whole Muppet thing too. Paige and Peyton didn't watch much Sesame Street  when they were young, or at least didn't remember, so throw that in the mix too. I had to explain how the Muppets really did have a TV show that came on regularly when I was young, and they also had movies too. I didn't try to explain the Muppet Babies cartoon I watched every Saturday morning as a child. At least I understood the Muppets reuniting as did

Dig out some more plates

About 48 hours ago, I thought it was just going to be me and my parents for Thanksgiving. Yesterday, when I got over to my parents' house to cook, I dug out three plates from the hutch and glasses we had not used in who knows when. My mom has several set of dishes that never get used. When Dad talked to Brian last night, he confirmed that he and Julie were coming. We really weren't sure since Mom had mentioned to both of them without getting a commitment in return. So, I dug out two more plates. This morning, while I was cooking and Mom and Dad were still looking over the paper or making fruit salad, my phone rings. Peyton asked where I was so that her mom could drop her and Paige off since they were coming back to their Dad's. So, I eagerly got to get out two more plates and put the leaf in the dining room table. I told the girls this story, and they got quite the kick out of it. I guess they are easily entertained like me. What I thought was going to be a table for

I finally have some plans

So, picking up where I left on Saturday, when I headed out with Jenny...  Actually, I'm typing part of this for a second time because My draft was not saving and I hit a command by accident that went back and I had nothing that I had been typing on. And now, I am even switching to my Blackberry because my computer really hates me now. Everyone knows I don't get out nearly enough, so Jenny lined up meeting Courtney and Rakia at El Fenix in Mesquite for my birthday. El Fenix is kind of my birthday thing and has been for a while with different people. The four of us are an interesting mix. Sort of explained best when Rakia asked where the rest of us met each other. I've know Jenny since I was in 5th grade and my family started going to the same church hers did. I met Courtney the first day of college in 8 AM American History class. Jenny and Courtney met the next year in band. Rakia and I worked together for a while. Jenny had moved away for a while during the time Rakia
