Finding purpose in pain

Part 2 of an interview with Sherri Burgess, Author of Bronner: A Journey to Understand If God is good, then why does He allow terrible things to happen? It’s a universal question asked by believers and skeptics alike. Some decide no answer exists, but not Sherri Burgess, the author of Bronner: A Journey to Understand (New Hope Publishers/January 19, 2016/ISBN: 978-1-62591-500-9/$16.99) . When Burgess and her husband, Rick (host of the nationally syndicated “The Rick and Bubba Show”), lost their two-year-old son in a tragic drowning at home, she turned to God with the same question and in her grief learned there are answers. What she discovered about the Lord and herself she now brings to the world in this special book. Q: Why did you decide to write this book and share your journey? It wasn’t really a decision at all. It was a calling. I felt strongly compelled by God to write this book. God answered me, but He didn’t answer me so I would keep those answers to m...

When the prodigal is ready to return - Ruth Logan Herne's Back in the Saddle

Image
Ruth Logan Herne reminds readers despite life’s challenges, they can always go back home Family relationships are never easy, and loss, grief and greed can compound normal everyday tensions. Ruth Logan Herne offers hope for hurting families with the messages contained in her new book, Back in the Saddle (Multnomah Books / March 15, 2016 / ISBN: 978-1601427762 / $9.99) . Colt Stafford grew up with resentment burned into his soul. His mother told him to trust God with all his heart, but when Colt lost her to a tragic car wreck, he decided if God existed, he sure wasn’t anyone who could be trusted. His dad, Sam, was a power-loving, money-hungry man building a beef empire, but his ambition left little for his son. It wasn’t too difficult for Colt, once grown, to shrug off his cowboy boots for shiny Manhattan loafers and a promising career on Wall Street. When stock market manipulations send his career as a hedge fund manager plummeting, he’s left financially strapped and...

Most dramatic finale ever is always a false promise on #thebachelor

It better be as dramatic tonight as Chris Harrison has been promising all season, but I doubt it will be. My dramatic meter may be a little off whack. There's been enough drama around my life, that it takes a lot of drama to move my needle. We may be in for a long three hours. Chris teases that there may be a wedding at the end of "After the Final Rose." Last week on "The Women Tell All," Ben said he was ready to marry the person he chose. The show has flown in both women's families, Neil Lane with the wedding rings, and Ben's minister from Warsaw, IN. I bet the drama is there is no wedding. We see Lauren talking about it being so hard to believe she's here at the end in Jamaica. She has so many feelings for Ben and can't imagine anyone else feeling like her. (Well, why not.) JoJo has no doubts that she and Ben are in this together. It's the perfect relationship.  Both women are wearing cut off denim shorts similar to the ones I alm...

I Have Decided to Follow Jesus

Image
I Have Decided to Follow Jesus Public Domain I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided to follow Jesus. No turning back, No turning back. The cross before me; The world behind me. The cross before me; The world behind me. The cross before me; The world behind me. No turning back, No turning back.   Though none go with me, I still will follow. Though none go with me, I still will follow.   Though none go with me, I still will follow. No turning back, No turning back. Will you decide now to follow Jesus? Will you decide now to follow Jesus? Will you decide now to follow Jesus? No turning back, No turning back.

This weekend in the studio - and new goodies!

I've been working on orders this week, and have a lot of stuff piled up to work on before a sale next weekend. We'll see how much I get done. This week, book letters were the hot item. And a couple more flag letters. Yes, even an order for Christmas trees! I did finally get these planter buckets started. I've been trying to get to them for weeks. These were the not so crafty brother's idea. And the crafty uncle has been at it again. I'll be shipping items to four states on Monday!
