The Wise Man

Image
They always hate songs where I make them do the hand motions. That's why I make them sing these songs! The Wise Man The wise man built his house upon the rock The wise man built his house upon the rock The wise man built his house upon the rock And the rain came tumbling down Oh, the rain came down And the floods came up The rain came down And the floods came up The rain came down And the floods came up And the wise man’s house stood firm. The foolish man built his house upon the sand The foolish man built his house upon the sand The foolish man built his house upon the sand And the rain came tumbling down Oh, the rain came down And the floods came up The rain came down And the floods came up The rain came down And the floods came up And the foolish man’s house went “splat!” So, build your house on the Lord Jesus Christ Build your house on the Lord Jesus Christ Build your house on the Lord Jesus Christ And the blessings will come down Oh, the blessings come down As your prayers go

Click here or scroll to the end of the post to request a digital review copy.   Toddlers are not too young to learn the gospel! Help them discover how and why Jesus saves in this hopeful and beautifully illustrated board book. Using easy-to-understand, simple concepts, children’s book author Sarah Reju offers a way for parents to teach the good news to children ages one to four. Every generation needs to hear and believe the good news. Even the youngest children need to know, from the time they are in diapers, that there is a God who made them, loves them, and is calling them to turn from their sins and trust in him. The rhythmic, repetitive style of the story will make the content memorable for toddlers. Each bright page, illustrated by Phil Schorr, includes a short Bible verse that helps

The Bachelor: Week 4: Matt: I Can be a Mean Girl if I Want to

Image
When we ended last week, Sarah had decided to go home to take care of her father. This all happened around the time the third date card was supposed to be read.  I hate it when an episode doesn't end with the rose ceremony, but the week before, we ended mid-rose ceremony when Sarah had her fainting spell. Therefore, we're all off whack. The episode starts with the next day when it's time for Matt to contemplate the night before prior to going on the next group date. He had shared a lot with Sarah, and now he's scared of who else might not want to be a part of his journey.  Meanwhile, the women talk about Sarah leaving. Victoria says the trash took itself out. Katie calls Victoria on the toxic talk--why keep talking about it?  The group date doesn't start until the evening. Basically, it starts with a cocktail party. MJ takes Matt off first. She asks how he's doing to focus on him.  Other women do the same thing and affirm that they are here for him.  We run thro

My God is So Big

Someday when things are "normal" again, I'll have new videos.  My God is So Big My God is so big!    So strong and so mighty. There’s nothing my God cannot do. My God is so big!    So strong and so mighty. There’s nothing my God cannot do. The mountains are his and the valleys are his and the trees are his handiwork too. My God is so big!    So strong and so mighty. There’s nothing my God cannot do for you.

More Whining about Missing Basketball

Found some pictures from another game on Facebook. This one is from a few weeks ago. I really miss being able to go and watch without being freaked out by crowds and social distancing. This needs to be gone before Peyton's senior season starts in the fall.

I Miss Going to Watch Basketball

Image
Sometimes (scratch the sometimes) I really hate playing it safe to avoid COVID, even if I realize it's for the best given the numbers in this county lately.  I miss going to basketball games so very much. I especially wanted to see this game against Malakoff. Malakoff doesn't get beat often, but Mildred has taken them out twice this season. Peyton (#24) played her butt off. I did get to watch the game on YouTube last night, and had to rely on a photographer for these photos. I think this shot was her 3-pointer to start the game.

Review Sign-Ups Are Open for God Made Me in His Image

Click here to request a digital review copy.   One day, a group of students and their teacher travel to a zoo safari park to learn all about the different animals. During a fun jeep ride around the park, the guide shares fascinating information about lions, rhinoceroses, elephants, buffalo, and more, pointing out distinctive characteristics about each animal’s body and how those qualities make the animals special. Along the way, the children start to notice how their differences in appearance make each of them special too. Their teacher helps them reflect on their own body image and teaches them how they were created uniquely in God’s image.  Because bodies can be confusing and sometimes embarrassing to children, Justin and Lindsey Holcomb wrote  God Made Me in His Image  for parents to use in helping their kids understand how God made

The Bachelor: Matt: Week 3: Oh to Be Young and Dramatic

I should be wrapping up this post tonight just as a I am getting started.  It's been a long day y'all. I did not stop work at 6 in time to get dinner cooked and eaten by 7. I didn't get it done until 8 or so, and then I cleaned up some of the kitchen.  I'm so tired, and I don't know if I'll make it through two hours, but hopefully, with being able to skip the commercials, it won't take that long. Here we go! The last episode ended with Sarah getting light headed and almost passing out. Matt goes to check on her, and they get a moment together. She says she's embarrassed, but he laughs it off. Recapping where we were with the roses... Bri, Lauren, and Sarah have their roses from dates.  Then, he has given roses to: Peiper Kit Magi Rachael Chelsea Jessenia Katie Serena C. Serena P. Abigail * this is where we had the fainting spell.  He continues the ceremony with roses for:   Khaylah Mari MJ Anna Kaili Victoria (you know that was coming) We have to keep th
