Daniel in the Lions' Den

Image
When I was a kid, we only sang the Daniel and Jonah parts of this song, but I found more verses on a website. Kids these days don't know any of the verses! I've tried it with groups after this that didn't know it.    Who Did Swallow Jonah? Who did? Who did? Who did? Who did? Who did swallow Jo-Jo-Jonah? Who did? Who did? Who did? Who did? Who did swallow Jo-Jo-Jonah? Who did? Who did? Who did? Who did? Who did swallow Jo-Jo-Jonah? Who did swallow Jonah? Who did swallow Jonah? Who did swallow Jonah… Up? The whale did. The whale did.  The whale did. The whale did. The whale did swallow Jo-Jo-Jonah The whale did. The whale did.  The whale did. The whale did. The whale did swallow Jo-Jo-Jonah The whale did. The whale did.  The whale did. The whale did. The whale did swallow Jo-Jo-Jonah The whale did swallow Jonah  The whale did. The whale did. The whale did swallow Jonah… Up! Noah, Noah, Noah, Noah, Noah in the arky, arky, Noah, Noah, Noah, Noah, Noah in the arky, arky, Noah, N

Have You Tried Verse Mapping?

Image
Have you heard about Verse Mapping?  Have you even tried it yourself?  Verse Mapping is a Bible study process developed by author Kristy Cambron. She first introduced the process a few years ago, and I've been watching as it's taken off, but admittedly, haven't tried it myself. With the release of the new Verse Mapping Bible, I thought I'd give it a try.  With the snow last week, I literally did not get mail for a week. It came Sunday, but I didn't realize because who checks mail on Sunday. I have been running in circles with deadlines and working late nights since I pulled it out of the box on Monday, so I haven't been able to start mapping yet.  The Official Verse Mapping Bible 4-1-1: Verse mapping means getting real about studying the Bible. More than simply reading a verse or Scripture passage, verse mapping uses Bible study tools to research what you’ve read---to learn about what God is saying and how you can apply his Word to your life. The Bachelor: Matt: Week 8: The Fake Hometowns

It's Hometowns tonight on #TheBachelor 🏡🌹 pic.twitter.com/ZKyTKxHvBk — The Bachelor (@BachelorABC) February 22, 2021 I had to end up working Monday night, so I didn't get to watch and blog like I usually too. I was disgruntled that I was on a deadline because A) Monday night is the one night I try to get done with work, dinner and on the couch at 7:00 and B) because if I didn't do it Monday, I'd have a heck of a time motivating myself to do this blog post otherwise.  Let's just say I know myself well.  On Tuesday night, I had a softball game, and here it is Wednesday, I worked until 7:30, cooked dinner, ate and am dreading starting this at 9:00. I'm also kind of just over all things The Bachelor right now. I haven't read it all, so I can't really make an educated comment, but my news tab on Facebook is full of angry Bachelor cast members. I really think the whole franchise may implode soon.  Also, who can keep track on if Clare and Dale are on again

I Will Think Twice Before I Say I Want it to Snow Again

I just thought that last month we had a big Texas snow . It was pretty much melted and gone the next day minus a snowman .  But not this time. When the snow melted five weeks ago, I looked ahead on Accuweather to see if it was predicted that we might get any more, and let me tell you, nothing like this was anywhere close.  The freezing temps and rain nearby started on Thursday. Peyton was supposed to have a playoff game that was postponed because of the roads. It was rescheduled for Friday, but in a town that could be treacherous to get to and from if freezing rain started, so I didn't make it. I did, however, make a run for enchiladas before I got frozen in. On Saturday, it started getting a little nasty here. On Sunday morning, there was a layer of ice on the roads and a light dusting of snow. These pictures are Monday morning. Part of the town was out of electricity. Some of town was out of water and the rest had really low water pressure until they got one of the water treatmen

The Bachelor: Matt: Week 7: The One Where Half of Them Go Home

Image
So, the way we left it last week, Heather had just arrived in her rented minivan and strutted right in to interrupt Matt and Pieper.  Matt laughs at Heather and her arrival, and tells Pieper he needs a minute. Matt welcomes her and gives her another hug. Some of the women know who Heather is, and some do not. Abigail knows all about who she is. Heather tells Matt that Hannah Brown thought that Matt would be a good match for Heather. Heather evidently went to Hannah's house and Hannah told Matt all about Matt and blah, blah, blah. Why this whole conversation didn't happen before Matt started taping seems suspect. Extremely fishy. Matt says Hannah knows him well, what she has to say means a lot to him, but he needs to think about it.  Heather wanders into the room where the other women are. They start grilling her asking her what she is doing there. Jessenia asks if she's ready to be engaged in two weeks. Chelsea asks if she was on another season. When Heather says she was, J
