Evidently, #TheBachelor is for the birds, cows and squirrels

Chris Harrison should win the Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe for all the drama he inserts into just the preview of tonight's episode... part of a special two night event. What I never thought I would see? I bet it's not that outlandish. I am ready for all these parents who think their daughters are idiots. BRING. IT. ON.  We start off with Nikki in Kansas City which is somehow now synonymous with cows. I don't know why they start off with cows when introducing KC. I don't think I saw cows there. Fountains, yes. Cows, no. Union Station - yes, I've seen that. I guess it is because of the BBQ places. However, I think that KC BBQ is more PORK than BEEF.  Nikki says that it is make it or break it time. First challenge: gas station BBQ (Oklahoma Joe's). The sauce is spicy for him. He said it was amazing. Side note: gas station BBQ meant something else to me in KC. I had to chug Coke in order to burp after eating the nastiest BBQ I've ever eaten there. ...

Why must everyone at church want to set you up?

Not that I ever plan to write a book, but I think I could write a book based on the things the kids in my 5th grade Sunday Bible class say. This morning, the topic was happiness, and I must have been guilty as charged regarding getting them stirred up (yes, I was told by one of the students that it was my fault they were loud). I tried to get them on track because I only recall one conversation ever that might have led them to think I would want to discuss this. (Probably when I told them that when the preacher asked each S...

A Saturday night event

I actually did something this Saturday night. My parents and I went to Bass Hall to see the Oak Ridge Boys. My parents had seen them twice in Branson, but they are never there when I get dragged up there. My first record was the one that had "Elvira" on it. I remember. I was like 5 and got a Holly Hobby record player for Christmas. Anyway, I was willing to see, and when I'm willing to see someone my parents are willing to see, we go. It was a good show - anyone with the Ft. Worth Symphony Orchestra is really pretty cool. I mean, how many times have you heard "Elvira" or "Bobby Sue" complete with an orchestra? When we got there, the Oak Ridge Boys tour bus drove up, and I could see Richard Sterban in the front. With his grown out hair and funky facial hair, I could just tell it was him. So we walked up the block some, and were talking to a woman out near the front door. Richard walked right by us within three feet, but Mom and Dad didn't recognize h...
