The Guilt Trip

Image
Although I am sure to have the kind of guilt trip you are thinking of tomorrow, today, my parents and I went to our annual Christmas Eve movie. This year, our selection was The Guilt Trip. Dad was worried becuase the critics had given it bad reviews. All I can say is that the critics had never traveled with their parents, or they were parents who couldn't see the humor in how they really act. We all found it hilarious. A few awkward moments. Some language could be cut. In the restrooms, a guy who had also seen the movie said that he didn't think he could travel with either of his daughters. I'm not really sure what my dad said in return.

He's Just Not That Into You

In Saturday night's entry, I talked about going to see He's Just Not That Into You . However, as one reader pointed out, I didn't give my opinion of the movie. Overall, I liked it, but the more I think about it, maybe I didn't. I spent the first I don't know how long of the movie trying to keep up with how all the characters were connected. They were a little 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon- ish . What woman hasn't had one of those "he's not into you" moments? I know guys that do things that would make you think he was into you, but he's really not into you. It really drives me nuts. Should we say, "hey, you're being a real jerk because that could be considered flirting"? Sort of like Alex and Gigi before he finally figured out he did like her. I really felt for the Gigi character. She just wanted a guy to pay her some attention and be interested in her. I've probably been as obsessed as her before, but just not as obvious to the ge...

I've had enough of Four Christmases

Image
Contrary to what has been said about me before, I do not hate all movies. I just don't go to the movies a lot - it's just not my passion like it is some people's. I maybe go a few times a year. In the past 4 weeks, I've gone twice and seen the same movie twice. The day after Thanksgiving, I met up with my friend Rakia and we saw Four Christmases because it looked funny. It was. The first time. I forgot how utterly annoying Vince Vaughn became by the end of the movie. Well, our somewhat more recent tradition (for my parents and I) is to go watch a movie in Waxahachie and out to eat on Christmas Eve. The choice of movies was slim, and my parents had already decided they wanted to see Four Christmases. They had forgotten that I had already seen it. That was fine, no problem, I would see it again without complaint. Man, I tell you, Vince was annoying from the get go this time. On this Christmas Eve, I am also rushing to crochet what may or may not be a Christmas gift for m...
