Talking With Boys About What It Means to Be a Man

Image
I am scheduling interviews for Joel Fitzpatrick. For review copy and interview information, contact audra@newgrowthpress.com .  Buy a copy of Between Us Guys here! Talking With Boys About What It Means to Be a Man New book provides fathers with tools to have gospel-centered conversations with their sons about every aspect of life. Reports suggest boys are more likely to be violent and unable to express their emotions than girls. There’s also a great discussion going on about toxic masculinity leading to pent-up aggression and frustration, isolation, problematic relationships, violence, anger, and other devastating realities. It’s clear raising boys today requires a new definition of what it means to be a man. It’s more important than ever for fathers to be role models and have gospel-centered conversations with their sons about becoming a man. In Between Us Guys: Life-Changing Conversations for Dads and Sons (New Growth Press/May 13, 2019), author J...

The Bachelorette: Hannah B. - Week 1

Hey Bachelor Nation! ❤️ this Tweet to get access to rose-worthy exclusives before the hottest episodes of #TheBachelorette this season! 🌹 pic.twitter.com/gEV6RiPwTC — The Bachelorette (@BacheloretteABC) May 10, 2019 I woke up this morning after a really crappy weekend and seriously just considered skipping the whole blogging thing on this season of The Bachelorette . After all, it's a waste of productive time I can spend doing something else, and Hannah B. gets on my next-to-the-last nerve. But when has that ever stopped me before? I had all of three people on Facebook promise to read this post if I did it. I've always had low self-esteem and people pleasing issues, so here we go. I've had a terribly frustrating Monday where if anything could go wrong it did. One annoying little thing after another, many of which made me look like an idiot, with a bigger work issue thrown in. Then, Sonic messed up my order and my burger came out to me as a chicken sandwic...

(boys)  Yes, we’re sure we love Jesus. (girls)  Tell us why we love Jesus. (boys)  This is why we love Jesus. (everyone together)  Because he first loved me. Oh, how I love Jesus Oh, how I love Jesus Oh, how I love Jesus Because he first loved me. Can also alternate between teacher and kids and insert each child's name in.

Since I am always making college signs, I made some just a little different than usual for the seniors at church. They all had senior tables fixed up which included either their college colors or something about where they would be going, so they fit in perfectly. I hadn't done a few of these before, including one state of Kansas!

The terrible blogger who is always behind.

Every time I get close to caught up on blogging, I get a week behind again. I've had a lot on my mind lately, but haven't been able to write in a timely fashion. Speaking of writing, this just reminds me of how dreadfully behind I am in writing for work. There just aren't enough hours in the day. Stick with me though, I'll get there.
