Have You Tried Verse Mapping?

Image
Have you heard about Verse Mapping?  Have you even tried it yourself?  Verse Mapping is a Bible study process developed by author Kristy Cambron. She first introduced the process a few years ago, and I've been watching as it's taken off, but admittedly, haven't tried it myself. With the release of the new Verse Mapping Bible, I thought I'd give it a try.  With the snow last week, I literally did not get mail for a week. It came Sunday, but I didn't realize because who checks mail on Sunday. I have been running in circles with deadlines and working late nights since I pulled it out of the box on Monday, so I haven't been able to start mapping yet.  The Official Verse Mapping Bible 4-1-1: Verse mapping means getting real about studying the Bible. More than simply reading a verse or Scripture passage, verse mapping uses Bible study tools to research what you’ve read---to learn about what God is saying and how you can apply his Word to your life. When Rosamund’s path crosses with Mable’s and the Ringlings’ glittering world, she makes the life-altering decision to leave behind a comfortable future of estates and propriety, instead choosing the nomadic life of a trick rider in the Ringling Brothers’ circus. {MORE ABOUT  THE RINGMASTER’S WIFE } (Thomas Nelson, June 2016) An ounce of courage. By 1941, the camp was converted also to a ghetto and transport camp for mainly Czech, but also Soviet, Polish, German and Yugoslavian Jews. Of the approximate...

A flicker of hope found in a war-torn world

Bound together across time, two women discover a powerful connection through one survivor's story Just like a single candle can brighten a dark room, a glimmer of hope can sustain the soul in dark times. In her highly-anticipated second novel, Kristy Cambron shines a light on the resiliency of the human spirit in A Sparrow in Terezin (Thomas Nelson/April 7, 2015/ISBN: 978-1401690618/$15.99) . A Sparrow in Terezin shares the heart-wrenching truth of the Terezin concentration camp during WWII. Of the approximate 150,000 prisoners who passed through Terezin, nearly 90,000 were deported to extermination camps. Of the 15,000 children sent to Terezin, fewer than 100 survived. Despite the lack of basic sanitation, food and clean water though, an arts community thrived there, even among the children. “The art of these children refused to leave my heart,” Cambron admits. “The images are so heart-wrenching, they beg for a voice. It’s because of them that Sophie and Kája’s st...
