Yes, I admit up front, it's been a lazy weekend inside the walls of my home, and I've done nothing exciting and blog worthy. I read half a book yesterday. That's as productive as I have been. This post is about that half a book I read yesterday. Since I worked with Sibella Giorello a few months ago on her latest release, The Stars Shine Bright , I've been making my way through her first four books. I bought the first two and sweet talked the publisher (thanks Thomas Nelson Fiction) into sending the next two. After finishing #3 yesterday ( The Clouds Roll Away), I started #4 ( The Mountains Bow Down ). Between all the books we do blog tours and/or publicity on, all the free Kindle downloads I have gotten (check out Inspired Reads and get their daily email if you don't get it already), and my stack of "too good of a deal not to buy" purchases, I have close to 100 books I have not read. At the risk of sounding like an old foggie, the Christmas season comes earlier every year. As much as I despise Halloween, it barely got its own time this year. Thanksgiving comes as early as it can this year. Can't we just enjoy it first? I honestly kind of struggle with this time of year. Making it come early and last longer isn't especially helpful. After a day of unproductively hanging around the house, I finally got out of the house for toothpaste and milk. I came home to flip on the TV (nothing is ever on that's any good at 5 on a Saturday) to the Hallmark Channel where I think they started playing those sappy made for TV Christmas movies that are anything but "original" despite their description back in September. Ok, maybe just the week before Halloween. And here I sit, sucked in by a movie with the title "Christmas in November." Oh, the irony of it all. It's late, I'm ready to watch Grey's Anatomy and Scandal, and I need a blog post. I just took this picture for my co-workers to see. We were talking about mugs. You can see part of my collection here. I almost had to leave some behind last vacation because I bought too many (I think 5) and didn't have the space or weight limit left in my suitcases. Keep in mind, I don't drink anything hot and don't drink out of mugs. My mom has a slightly better idea. She collects shot glasses. It started out as toothpick holders years ago, but transitioned into shot glasses when that's what she can find. And she buys more than I do. They are smaller, slightly cheaper and weigh less. And no, she doesn't drink from hers either.
