The whiniest season of #thebachelor yet

Image
Blogging on The Bachelor  is some kind of sick self-punishment, and I'm not even sure what I did to deserve it. Yet, here I am on a Monday night after a long day. The show picks up where we left off last week. Not with a rose ceremony, but with Nick confessing his relationship with Liz. The next morning, the women who were on the group date tell the rest of the women what happened. We don't have to suffer through the day, thankfully. We jump to the cocktail party. When Nick comes in, he tells everyone what happened. The wedding, the deed, the fact they didn't exchange numbers, where we are today. That should have been enough, but we have to hear the women talk about it at the cocktail party and the women talk to Nick about it. Just drop it with Nick. Try to further your own relationship with him. I don't know who any of these women he's talking to are. Meanwhile, upstairs, Corinne is practicing being slutty in the bathroom. Unfortunately, I who she is. Nick ...

I Have Decided to Follow Jesus

Image
In fairness to Rachel, I had to get myself in the video (sort of) too. I Have Decided to Follow Jesus Public Domain I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided to follow Jesus. No turning back, No turning back. The cross before me; The world behind me. The cross before me; The world behind me. The cross before me; The world behind me. No turning back, No turning back.   Though none go with me, I still will follow. Though none go with me, I still will follow.   Though none go with me, I still will follow. No turning back, No turning back. Will you decide now to follow Jesus? Will you decide now to follow Jesus? Will you decide now to follow Jesus? No turning back, No turning back.

The project I may never get done

Image
I have to be honest. I have a special order (actually two) that I have been putting off because I know how tedious it's going to be to hand draw out and letter everything... in print. I hate printing. Here's a sneak preview... I had to come upstairs to bring out a couple of things I have to trace off, then need to get back and work on more of it.  I also should have started earlier in the day. But Dad and I moved a couch from my studio to Virgil & Maudie's. Then we had to take the trailer back to my uncle's where it stays in between trips. After that, we went to an estate sale. When I got home, I had to organize all my two hundred or so books (because I had to move a bunch of them to get the couch out, then stack the 94 I got this week). Then I decided I needed a few things I forgot at the grocery store which is a sure sign I am trying to avoid something.  I rarely pencil anything out, but penciled out the "Home is where..." and still goof...

It's time to weekend

Image
Sometimes I really wish I could tell you some of the crazy stories involving my job, but sometimes I just can't. Those stories mostly involve some of the potential project inquiries we get.  I haven't had a lot of those stories to share lately, but they seemed to all hit this week. I don't know if it's just the first of the year or a full moon or what. In any case, my week had a good bit of that involved along with other things that kept popping up. Now, here I am on a Friday night at 7:00 and just now logging off. I ended up putting in an extra hour trying to finish something off because next week is going to be bananas for a whole other reason. Then, I was trying to upload a video from my phone to my computer and it took me 15 minutes to figure out where the video was because it's not in the same place on this phone as my last, and it wasn't labeled with a "VID" name even though I thought the last ones were. That's enough to make me crazy in ...

Don’t forget your prayers of praise

Part 2 of an interview with Amelia Rhodes, Author of Pray A to Z: A Practical Guide to Pray for Your Community To read part 1 of this interview,  click here ! When faced with more prayer requests than she could count, Amelia Rhodes realized how often she was failing to follow through on praying for others long-term. She longed to participate fully in lifting up those around her rather than simply offering quick, fly-by prayers as she learned of needs. Rhodes sought the Lord’s guidance and help with being more disciplined in her prayer life, and an idea started to take root in her heart. “I realized how many people I knew were struggling with the same types of things — adoptions, cancer, marriages. The idea of praying by topic seemed natural, and then I decided to see if I could make an A to Z list of all the needs and struggles facing our communities today,” Rhodes explains. Rhodes’ new book, Pray A to Z: A Practical Guide to Pray for Your Community (Worthy Inspire...

It looks like a hoarder moved in

Image
I think the Fed Ex guy may have hurt himself today while delivering these. I guess the guy that shipped these to me from eBay bundled them together as to not pay for individual shipping boxes since he was paying the shipping. I'm just glad he put them inside my door and I didn't have to haul them in from the porch myself. I had to cut them apart to be able to move them, and they were still quite heavy.  "What's in the boxes?" you ask? There were 94 Reader's Digest Condensed books. I stacked them up on the table, and anyone walking in may question if I am a hoarder. They better not look at my craft room right now. It needs some straightening. It doesn't help my cause. There's lots of books in there too. Dad's going to need to start cutting books again soon.
