The surprise present I got my family

With minutes to spare by deadline, and while working before and after my Christmas party in order to get the most discounts, I finished the photo book of my family's summer vacation to give my parents and my nieces. Here's how it turned out! *As of 5/20/17, Shutterfly made me remove the widget.

The only reason it's not too early to start counting down to Christmas

Image
Those of you that know me well or much at all know I'm not the biggest fan of the Christmas season in general. I only want to hear Christmas music from the day after Thanksgiving to Christmas day itself. No earlier, no later. The same goes for Christmas decorations. I'll start assembling on Thanksgiving, but I will disassemble on December 26, if not as soon as I get home from Kaufman on Christmas day itself. Yes, I have been known to put up three Christmas trees, but that's a push to be well decorated and honestly decorating depresses me to no end every year. And as OCD as I am, decorating my big Christmas tree to perfection is an anxiety attack waiting to happen. I hate it. I'm annoyed at how early stores put out Christmas decorations and push you towards shopping. I say "let Halloween and Thanksgiving have their moments!" I say this those despising Halloween on so many levels that you don't want to get me started. The best thing about Hallo...

Anyone want to proof my mega scrapbook for me?

It took me a year, but I finally have my scrapbook from my last vacation put together. (The one to Seattle, Victoria and Vancouver.) However, before I print it, I need to go over it once more for typos and I am the world's worst at catching my own mistakes. Want to take a look? You don't have to proof it if you just want to look. I finally got my lazy Saturday

Image
I FINALLY got my lazy Saturday that I have been lamenting about for weeks. I slept in until 9:30, and would have had breakfast out in the sun room like I've been doing on the weekends, but it was cold out there this morning.  That's another topic there. Talking about the weather these days is more than just "talking about the weather." What is going on? One day it's 80, the next day it's in the 40's or something like that? It was quite warm on Monday for the girls' first softball games. Thursday night, we were in sweatshirts and blankets getting through a miserable game. Friday night got pretty cold by the end and tonight it was back warm again. Not that I'm not appreciative of cooler weather because it will get hotter that hot here in Texas before long, but what is up with this? It's May! With four games this week, Peyton's almost already have way through her softball season. She only plays for a month, but all of her games someho...

Sometimes you have to just do it yourself!

I think it was last Thursday. It was some day last week. Actually, it was last Friday. Anyway, I called my dad and both he and Paige answered at once. I told them that I could do a free scrapbook on Shutterfly if they would find pictures of my mom so that I could put it together for her birthday. I'll say right now, this is the only thing Klout is good for. Ok, two things. It got me hooked on Lipton Tea with Honey (is that good) and it got me a free scrapbook on Shutterfly that I might have could have gotten some other way. A couple of years ago, I had done one of these for my Dad when he had a special birthday. I knew it wasn't going to be big enough or have enough pages for my Seattle trip. His first response was, "I don't know where to look." "Why don't you start with that whole closet down the hall full of photo albums?" Dad, Paige and Peyton started on the project. Then I told Dad more of what I needed. Across her entire life. Pictures...
