I did invite people over to my house for the Sister Wives premiere last Sunday. Only one person came, but we had some good conversation time. The others didn't miss much and the show is sure to be of before a next season. That is my prediction. That's not to say that I won't be watching every episode until it goes off the air because I probably will. Robyn is poised to cry every time they talk to her. Every. Time. As all of you know, I'm a little obsessed at times with reality TV. I'd like to think that I am at least semi-well-read, but I do have to admit that much of what I know about some subjects I get from watching reality TV. I did watch a lot of Dateline interviews on NBC about polygamy before Sister Wives , I feel the need to say. At least that education came from news.  Jenny saw me post that I was going to watch Breaking Amish , so she called for a party. So, she and Rachel came over to watch with me on Sunday night. It wasn't much of a party to their disappointment, I'm sure, but it was 9:00 on a Sunday night after church. Jenny does feel that I introduce her to different cultures and ways of life through my choice of TV viewing. (And, she's already hooked on Breaking Amish , or so she says.) Happy Mother's Day all! I was the good daughter who went with my mother to my grandmother's. For all of you who may have forgotten, I can't post any Grandmother stories here. Not that there were really any to tell from today. At least funny ones, but... Anyway, so four friends and I sat around watching the  Sister Wives premiere tonight. Did NOT live up to any ounce of hype. They're so boring now. They try to make everything dramatic. Nothing was dramatic. Something has got to give. We all concede the whole lot of adults are crazy and stupid. The kids are going to be screwed up for life. We can't figure out what kind of marriage counselor you can find and go to that will be supportive of a polygamist marriage. Of course, all the women want their own house/space. In case you haven't heard, the new season of Sister Wives is starting Sunday night. As was expected of me, I'm having people over for a watching party. If you're interested in watching what amounts to a freak show, come on over!  Since it's Mother's Day, and plans are in the air for some people (meaning I don't know who all to expect), just pick up something to eat on your way over. Yeah, bad hostessing on my part. The Brown family also has a new book out. I'm really that curious enough that I really kind of want to read it. What's stopping me is the stacks of books all over my house that have not been read yet. Why buy another when I have piles? I've read the reviews of Becoming Sister Wives on Amazon, and they point to the book being terrible and not saying much that we didn't already know.
