God’s Design for Sexuality in a Changing Culture

Understanding God’s Design for Sexuality
New 15-session video series for churches provides
biblical answers to today’s sexual issues.

There is no doubt our cultural perspectives and attitudes about sexual issues have greatly changed in recent years. It seems everyone is asking questions surrounding gender identity, same-sex attraction, and same-sex marriage, with the answers to those questions very different than they were even a decade ago. But how do Christians answer those questions, especially when God’s answers haven’t changed?

In a new 15-session video series designed for Sunday school and small group settings, God’s Design for Sexuality in a Changing Culture (New Growth Press/August 2, 2018) equips churches to think honestly and biblically about sexuality and identity. Participants learn how to engage opposing views with truth and love, how to minister to those who struggle sexually, and how to discuss sexuality with courage and care in the Church.

Developed by Harvest USA, a non-profit that has been ministering to individuals and families affected by sexual struggles since 1983, each 30-minute video is accessible and comes with a leader’s discussion guide and participant outline.

With God’s Design for Sexuality in a Changing Culture, churches can create a safe space for groups to talk openly about difficult issues including gender identity, same-sex attraction, same-sex marriage, pornography, and how to raise sexually-healthy children and protect them in an internet world.

“Harvest USA understands the enormous significance of God making us sexual beings and the consequences that follow when sin disrupts our sexual desires. How much more amplified are the consequences to society when culture rejects God's authority over creation and sexuality. God's Design for Sexuality in a Changing Culture is a sturdy resource that will equip churches to be ambassadors of truth, grace, and freedom in a culture that's awash in sexual confusion,” notes Andrew T. Walker, Ph.D., Director of Policy Studies, The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission and author of God and the Transgender Debate.

R. Nicholas Black, MAR, spokesperson for God’s Design for Sexuality in a Changing Culture, is the Program Resources Director at Harvest USA, where he writes and edits resources for the ministry. He has been a pastor and is still a ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). He and his wife Nancy have two adult children.

Harvest USA is a non-profit that has been ministering to individuals and families affected by sexual struggles since 1983. With over 100 years of combined direct ministry experience, Harvest USA staff also seek to equip the Church with their writing and teaching on biblical sexuality and how to help those who struggle sexually.
